After his mother’s sudden death, Zucchini is befriended by the kind police officer Raymond, who accompanies Zucchini to his new foster home filled with other orphans his age. At first, Zucchini struggles to find his place in this strange, at times, hostile environment. The Dragons are Back!! After 18 Shows and 3 Cities, they are back once more. Do not miss.

Remember Remember is a set of 6 original stories imagined and written as Urban Folktales. Our city spaces suddenly seem devoid of stories. Maybe we don’t have the time for stories, maybe we’d notice the stories if someone would convert them into Twitter memes for us. Or maybe, we don’t believe that cities can hide fairytales in plain sight. Remember Remember explores what it means to hold on to our urban stories and fairytales. And sometimes to let them go.

Come watch this play for the magical journey with Dragons, Apps that let users time travel, helping a girl find her lost stories and more.

——————————————————————————————————–

After enthralling audiences with eight packed shows in 2017 at Big Bang 100, Bangalore Children’s
Chorus is back by popular demand. A musical extravaganza, directed by Dr Maya Mascarenhas and
choreographed by Judy Roby Bidapa, is set to be staged in August for eight fun-filled shows.
Many of us have grown up listening to memorable songs from iconic musicians of the 90s. Their
foot-tapping tunes, memorable lyrics and magnetic personalities never seem to fade. To celebrate
that musical legacy, Bangalore Children’s Chorus (BCC) will perform songs their parents grew up
with: Queen, Michael Jackson, Abba, Beatles, CSNY, Bryan Adams, Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi, Whitney
Houston….and more.
What’s a show without song and dance! BCC knows that very well and is practicing hard to transport
you into the captivating world that each song evokes, through full choral numbers, duets, and small
group performances. An equally talented live band will accompany the singers for all four shows.

THE PERFORMERS: Bangalore Children’s Chorus (BCC)
“The idea of starting BCC came from my experience that children, given an opportunity, can shine
and make a difference, not only in their lives, but in the lives of those around them”, admits Dr Maya
Mascarenhas, the Chief Inspiration Officer of BCC. To give talented young children early exposure to
singing together, and showcase their talent to Bangalore, Maya resolved to make this choir happen.

BCC started in August 2015 with over 60 children, ranging from 5 ½ – 17 years old, coming to practice
from literally all corners of Bangalore.
The choir first publicly performed after a 6-month course which focused on singing styles, voice
lessons, choral singing, choreography and show choir singing. Since then, BCC has grown to a
strength of 75 children. The kids have performed at several choral concerts, the Bangalore
International Airport during Christmas, and at orphanages and old age homes, more recently.
Of course, learning to sing is the primary objective of BCC. But perhaps its more significant and
enduring vision, is to show the children how rewarding it is when you give your talent to a cause.
While the kids learn to work as a team, find confidence on stage, communicate emotion to an
audience, and make a bunch of great friends in the bargain, Maya makes sure their music is always
making a difference to someone. “I believe, my kids have become better, richer individuals for that”.

The Flame

  • Synopsis of play –  Mrinmoy, the elder son of Sanyal family had met with an accident soon after his marriage and has since been confined to a wheelchair.  He is suffering from paralysis, severe burns and neurological problems and is supported by a whole time nurse, Ranjana, who takes care of Mrinmoy’s daily chores besides all the nursing help that he needs.   Mrinmoy does not allow his beautiful wife, Urmi, to take care of him physically, even though their relationship is deep, and Urmi’s love is his biggest inspiration to live.  Since his accident Mrinmoy has attempted to shield Urmi from the day-to-day realities of his bedridden condition. Dr Tarafdar is Mrinmoy’s physician and he regularly visits Mrinmoy.  Mrinmoy’s mother is a widow, highly educated and unorthodox. She is a sophisticated lady with a strong personality. She has an old-time friend, Major Lahiri who is a retired senior police officer and is currently a neighbour of the Sanyal family.  The play starts with an interactive evening amongst all the characters, and thereafter goes deeper into human conscience and on the next morning, turns into a mystery and finally takes a deep philosophical bend into emotional conflicts taking the audience through an unthinkable and engrossing journey on human relations.
